How It Works
Get started in three simple steps.
Install the Extension
Visit the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome". The extension icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
The extension requires minimal permissions and only activates on ExportComments.
Start an Export
Go to ExportComments and paste a URL from a supported platform. If the URL requires authentication, the Advanced Mode section will appear automatically.
Click "Send Cookies"
Open the Advanced Mode panel and click the "Send Cookies" button injected by the extension. It will securely pass your session tokens for the current export.
Make sure you are logged into the target platform in the same browser before clicking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the extension safe to use?
Yes. The extension only activates on the ExportComments website and only sends session cookies when you explicitly click the "Send Cookies" button. It does not track your browsing, collect personal data, or run in the background.
Why do some platforms require the extension?
Platforms like Discord, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook require you to be logged in to view certain content (private groups, DMs, restricted posts). The extension securely passes your existing session to ExportComments so it can access the same content you can see in your browser.
Do I need to be logged into the platform?
Yes. Before clicking "Send Cookies", make sure you are logged into the target platform (e.g., Discord, Instagram) in the same Chrome browser. The extension captures the session from your active login.
Does it work with other browsers?
Currently, the extension is available for Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera). Firefox support may be added in the future.
What permissions does the extension need?
The extension requests minimal permissions: it only needs access to cookies for the specific platforms supported by ExportComments and the ability to interact with the ExportComments website.
The "Send Cookies" button is not appearing. What should I do?
Make sure the extension is installed and enabled in Chrome. Try refreshing the ExportComments page. If the button still doesn't appear, check that the URL you entered belongs to a supported platform that requires authentication. You can also try disabling and re-enabling the extension from chrome://extensions.
